It was our last group run of the year, but that didn't stop our newest member Ollie from joining us for his first group run, Ollie I hope tonight's taster gets you all fired up for next year.
Tonight's task was at ECCO one of our shortest runs but to make up a bit of distance we took the scenic route, running along listening to Christmas Carols all the way to the task. When we arrived we were met by Jerry and those who chose to walk to the task for various reasons. We were giving the boulevard a final once over by doing some litter pick and trimming the over grown ivy from the flower beds. Despite it being cold out the sound of Christmas Carols playing and people having a jig and sing along made the time flew by quickly but it wasn't just all songs and dance the group were able to cover a larger area this time and we left Jerry feeling very proud of the work we had done.
After helping to take the tools back a majority of us headed to the pub for a final drink and bid our farewells.
Steph, just a reminder you had a few witnesses who will be there to support you on your quest next year in completing six 10Ks!! Wee know you can do it and we've got your back!!
Looking back over the past 12 months not only did tonight's group doubled last years number of attendees on the last group run but we also surpassed the number of good deeds we achieved last year. Thanks to all the members and attendees who came out to help us do great things in Croydon all our amazing stats could have never been achieved without you.
My task force thank you for your support and all the amazing inspirational stuff you have done from the parties to the community missions always being there to assist.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and looking forward to our adventures in 2020.

With the longer days and lighter evenings an impressive 17 GoodGymers gathered ready to tackle the evening task. The group welcomed newcomer Fran who joined us for her first ever run and congratulated Michelle on her new black t-shirt! In other news, a massive GoodGym Horah for Angela and David and many congratulations on the safe arrival of their beautiful baby girl!
The team completed a quick warm up with some high knees, squats and lunges before heading off along the river ready to pick some litter. Tav **led the way, with Ella and Carl in hot pursuit. Once at the site the team spilt up in to two’s and threes and working together made their way back towards the leisure centre collecting all the rubbish they could find. Once back at the leisure centre *Bob and Carl *took the litter to the big bins whilst **Michelle and Ian returned the equipment. The rest of the team headed off for a trip down memory lane. We lined up in pairs for a round of ladders (which only the brownies amongst us could really remember how to play) and then enjoyed a quick game of Duck, Duck, Goose – only Chris was quick enough to catch his goose!
Following our childish escapades it was time to return to the real work. Ian had requested some hill reps so the team jogged over to tackle the challenge of the energy sapping North Hill, made worse by Fay’s inability to remember our usual starting point – the hill seemed a lot longer that it has done before! Hat’s off to everyone for completing three rounds of that beast, once up it for the Colchester Half Marathon is quite enough for most!!
