When two become tonne (shifters)
2 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in Haringey.
- Saturday, 3rd of September 2016
Two GGers, Frances and Kike headed up to White Hart Lane for the next shift of helping Rowlands Children Centre to replenish a sand pit area.
The task involved moving 25kg bags of sand from their car park in to the sand pit area in the centre. Once we got the hang of the trolley, with task organiser Tony's help, we really got in to the swing of it. We figured out that 8 bags per trolley trip was the optimum number due to the quite steep slope up out of the car park which required getting a bit of a run up. After 45 minutes we realised we'd already done 5 trips and thus shifted a tonne of sand already.

After a brief refuel and rehydration break, the challenge was on to see if we could do another tonne before Frances had to head off to her next goodgym task. With time ticking away we cracked on with the job and 45 short minutes later and we'd done it! Two tonnes of sand moved.
