Eleven terrific GoodGym members braved the hottest day of the year to help Stephens house and gardens.(A charity pocket park in barnet.) We gathered outside the main entrance and chatted. Introduced ourselves and stated our favourite drinks of the moment. It was surprisingly oriented around alcohol! That’s the heat for you! ( not sure many would have been able to run home) Lucky no barman was available and we all went into the park. Welcome new starters .Diane.. Manish..Teresa ..Harrygive them a cheer. ( cheers!) Well done to Kat and Mia for running from home. The charity’s chair Alison explained our job was to move wood chip to the children’s log seating area. ( used for forest schools) We set up a relay using wheel barrows and wheely bins from the compond .... It was wheely hot work! :) ( sorry the best I could do!) We worked for about 45 minutes and by the time we had finished it had starting turning into a beautiful (cooler) evening with the sun sinking behind the trees and gathering storm clouds. We had the entire park to ourselves and time to do some yoga on the main lawn infront of the grade two listed house. Worth a visit to stroll around the ten acres of shaded park and don't forget the little café in the stables.
Thanks for coming and making a difference.
Keep moving!
