What a haul at Waterhall
6 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in Brighton.

6 of us plus Garry from the Tidy Up Team produced a whopping haul of 15 bags of litter in 1 hr 15 minutes from 100m of hedgerow. That’s 2 bags per person with professional Garry going the extra mile to produce 3 bags (although IMO they were only half full!)
It was great to have Diego join us for the second time. I was hoping that I would be able to practice some of my newly learnt Spanish on a native speaker (I’m nearly on Level 3 of Duo Lingo!) but faced with a real life Spanish person (rather than a búho verde) my new found language skills mysteriously disappeared!
The hedgerow we were working on acted as a trap for all the crisp and biscuit packets, drink bottles, carrier bags and dog poo bags (both full and empty!) produced by other users of this lovely spot. Jay even found a full, bottle of red, cork still in but no label, worth a punt or in the bin bag?!
Katharine and I both agreed that we were picking up all the bits missed by Diego, David & Jay working ahead of us, only to discover that Garry & Roy were working behind us and picking up all the bits that we missed, brilliant team work.
It was hard to stop because we didn't quite finish the hedgerow and there's always just one more bit to pick. But we'll be back to finish the job, watch this space!
