Weed really like a cold drink now please!
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in York.
- Saturday, 7th of July 2018
Craig and I both decided to do parkrun before the mission, although Craig rather sensibly chose the one nearby instead of nearly a 10k run away (and he got a pb!).
We met at the Fox & Roman (no beer for us sadly) and headed over to the mission, both already feeling rather hot! Mr & Mrs D and their son gave us some instructions and tools and we swiftly got to work pruning the bushes and pulling up the weeds that had completely covered the patio. Having uncovered a few nice plants and revealing the patio again, we set to sorting out the myriad pots that had started breeding at one end of the garden. After collecting about empty 40 plastic plant pots and trays, removing some more bindweed, and tidying away the rubbish (including computer speakers and a keyboard - the computer may still be in there somewhere!), we swept up and put all the waste into bags before finishing for the day (before we melted!).
Feeling a bit woozy at this point I headed straight for the shop for some fizzy pop, while Craig set off home.
Could definitely do some more work in this garden another (preferably cooler) day!
