Mission

We rose to the challenge

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Lewisham.

On Saturday, Lucia and I went to help Mrs H tidy up some of her front garden that had been overwhelmed with weeds and brambles.

This was quite the challenge, given the wind and the tools available, but we managed to take back the edge next to the path and the weeds gathering up immediately outside her window, and some roses which (especially in the wind) had a nasty habit of swinging into anyone using the steps going down to Mrs H's home - my face took quite the battering!

We chanced upon a friendly neighbour who offered support getting rid of garden waste, and said he'll keep an eye on things over the summer too. After some hard work, we ran off comfortable that we'd helped get Mrs H that little bit safer.
