6 GoodGymers made their way to help the Get Rid Of & Donate in Lambeth.

Last night 6 of us ran up to GROAD (get rid of and donate) to help sort through a massive pile of donations and put together suitcases for rough sleepers. We had all done this one before so got to work immediately. 'Suitcase Sanitising Steven' got straight to it sanitising the suitcases ready for us to fill, he's done this before and is now a pro. The rest of us starting sorting the donations. We were asked to set aside any jeans sized 34, and it turns out Stuart has a super power for looking at jeans and knowing their sizes immediately, as he managed to produce 6 pairs in the first 5 minutes. Gayle, Nathan and me worked on the rough sleeper bags putting in trousers shirts and jumpers as well as toiletries and a book. Dawn had a special suitcase to put together for a self described fancy lady which included a selection of beautiful dresses, handbags and face creams aswell as the usual warm clothing. After an hour and a half the suitcases were full, we packed up, said goodbye to Andrea and all ran home for tea.
