Trees a Crowd
3 GoodGymers made their way to help the Luton Borough Council Parks and Countryside in Luton.
- Saturday, 12th of March 2022
- Led by David Mansfield
Direct from volunteering at Parkrun we went directly to the Wardown Park lockup to meet Sam from Parks and collect the kit for the morning's task.
Six quite large apple trees, stakes and spades were then carried down to the Stockingstone Meadow, just opposite the cricket pitch. We found nice bright spots for each tree and set to work digging holes for them, driving the stakes in and making sure they were all safe and secure in their new homes.
The orchard here has been nicely filled out with these new additions so will be a great spot to grab some apples in future years, yum!
