TREEMENDOUS TASK TEAM!
7 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in Sheffield.

On a Winter’s day that was cold and icy enough to close most of Sheffield’s Park Runs the Magnificent Seven
*HAZEL HANNAH, KAURI PINE KAT, BAD-ASH ASH, SPRUCE STEVE, ZELKOVA ZOF, DECIDUOUS DAIANA and ALDER ANDREW *
headed out to plant 300 trees in Pipworth / Manor Playing Fields.
We met up with Sheffield City Council and the Forest Ranger Service who both do a huge amount of work contributing to keeping Sheffield's green spaces green.
We were given a lesson on the types of trees we’d be planting and planting techniques, soon becoming zen masters of the “L”-cut technique!
In no time at all we’d covered two large areas and planted all the trees that the Council had brought. They were seriously impressed by just how much work we’d got through. As were we, given that there were one or two sore heads after last night’s January Challenge celebrations at the Cutlery Works.
But a beautiful sunny morning, learning new skills, GG Sheff chatter and the occasional deliberate breach of the Health & Safety instructions we’d been given [he said NO POGOING on your spade Zof] and we were all feeling tremendous …
