There was a nice cool breeze coming through Bexley last night so everyone was in good spirits and raring to go. Tonight was litter picking night but before we grabbed the weapons for picking i had organized a fun fitness games sessions. Well i thought it was fun and so did everyone else till the burpees, squats, star jumps, lunges, high knee twists and planks were introduced :-)
After our new warm up, "Ethiopian Race Team" style no less it was time to set up for the games. These are always great fun and i believe the laughter helps to combat the pain of the drills and exercises a lot. You wouldn't believe the rivalry that suddenly gets introduced when there is a punishment for the losers. Yep, nobody wants to lose.
YEP, NOBODY WANTS TO LOSE..........
With the games over it was now time for the main event. LITTER PICKING!!!!!! Its really strange but it truly is very therapeutical. We started off around the gardens of Crooklog sports centre filling two large sacks believe it or not. It was then a short jog round to the car park of the Danson Youth Centre to give that a spring clean. Whilst in the car park we were spotted by Joy from the centre and asked if we could also pick a few weeds and sweep up some gravel. How cool is that, we even get tasks whilst doing tasks. With everyone in full litter picking mode we moved up to the Adult Education centre for a quick blitz.
WITH EVERYONE IN FULL LITTER PICK MODE WE MOVED UP TO THE ADULT EDUCATION CENTRE FOR A QUICK BLITZ.............
With bags now full and time no longer on our side i decided a nice cool down walk back to Base camp was a good idea. With full bin bags in hand we posed for a well earned and a very satisfying photo for a job well done. Great work tonight team. No real running distances covered but we had a brilliant fitness session, short jogs and loads of satisfaction for a job well done. Have a great week Goodgymers.
