Tightening the screws on the Ivy only
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Liverpool.
- Saturday, 1st of June 2024
With no running involved (dodgy leg) I arrived at Mrs H's house to try and fix the door handle. The metal handle on one side had broken off which could not be fixed, but we tried to hold the screw fixings with pliers but the screws did not get tighter to handle on the inside!!! I’m afraid this is where my diy skill set ended and Mrs H still needs this handle replaced.
So instead we decided to tackle the garden, there was over grown ivy coming all over the garden fence trying to consume the garden shed!!! Mrs H showed me all the tools she would normally use for taking down the ivy and we tackled a tiny corner, 2 bags o ivy later, we could see the top of the shed!
Amazed by her independence in her 90's, Mrs H did the task with me and I think we were both pleased that we could get something done in the end.
As we stopped for drinks, Mrs H explained her love for clothes as she used to be an MC back in the day and showed me some gorgeous photos of when she was younger, shining as she does now.
