The Sore Runner’s Apprentice
2 GoodGymers made their way to help the parkrun - Perry Hall in Birmingham.

As a veteran of setting up the course at Perry Hall, it was a great opportunity to show Tousif the ropes today. Remembering back to when I started, there’s a big difference between knowing the course because you have run it a few times and actually knowing where exactly each cone goes.
So we took a walk around Perry Hall park nice and early with Moses, who is a regular runner and had got to the park very early today, so took the chance to have the apprenticeship as well. We were all then able to take advantage of being able to run afterwards, which is the best thing about this volunteer role for me. I was able to take a last chance to run fast before marathon training, and luckily found that my sore hip had cleared up with a Christmas rest. I credit the lubrication from eating all that chocolate!
