The mystery of the missing mower
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in York.
- Sunday, 7th of April 2019
Georgie and I arrived at Mr N's expecting to mow the lawn and tidy up the garden but unfortunately the mower was nowhere to be seen. (We did find evidence a mower existed, as the box that collects the cutting was lying abandoned in the front garden). Not ones to be defeated by a lack of tools, Georgie and I made our way to the back garden with only gloves, one pair of secateurs and a lot of determination. Georgie started pulling up weeds and clearing the garden edges while I battled with some enormous, spiky brambles which were trying to take over the garden. The brambles fought back pretty hard but were eventually subdued. Meanwhile Georgie had made an exciting discovery in the form of a yellow plastic child's toy rake... With tools in such short supply this was a really good find and actually did a great job of removing weeds around the perimeter! With an hour almost up we completed a quick tidy up of the front garden with a plan to return in the future with a better supply of tools for the job!!
