The Muddy Path of Leaves and Distance
4 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in Haringey.
- Sunday, 20th of November 2016
On Sunday afternoon, 4 dedicated GoodGymers – undeterred by the deluges brought by Storm Angus – grabbed rakes, spades and wheel barrows and set to work on path maintenance deep in the heart of Crouch End Open Space recreation ground.
Under the instruction of the regular CREOS volunteers, Hazel and Anne raked away leaves from the path while Anthony and Mark took on the more strenuous task of shovelling gravel and wheeling it quite some distance uphill (and at point up steps) to fill in puddles.
The team’s dedication was rewarded with 2 full rain-free hours in the peaceful, wooded area where local dog-walkers (and their dogs) voiced encouragement and appreciation.
Further reward came at the end of the session when the GoodGym team with the CREOS volunteers for delicious homemade celeriac soup and cider.
