Five GoodGym Yorkies met at the University of York for a bonus Halloween group run.
Whilst we warmed up, we took turns telling everyone our opinion of the most awesome thing about GoodGym. Then we paired up for a quick game of cat and mouse. It wasn't long before everyone forgot who was the cat and who was the mouse which was the signal that we were warmed up enough.
We ran to Hull Road Park where we met with Kristina. She loaded us up with wheelbarrows and spades and took us down to a fading footpath. Our task was to find the original edges of the long dead path and bring it back to life again.
While Becky single handedly got to work on the 'easy' side of the path, the rest of us took part in an archaeological dig to find the wooden edging at the other side. Sure enough, buried under years of turf we soon found the edge and started widening the existing path to about three times its current width.
All too soon our time was up. After taking the tools back to the shed we bid farewell to Kristina and got started on our spooky workout which consisted of:
- Zombie walk(ing lunges)
- Gargoyle squats
- Spider lunges
- Wolfman reverse lunges
- A truly terrifying run up a hill.
Back at the uni, we cooled down, and bid a spooky farewell...
