Talking about the Boat in Pompey with Mrs D
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Portsmouth.

I started off my day by visiting a lovely lady who had recently turned 100 and enjoyed celebrating her birthday with all of her family in January. She was thrilled to have received a letter ‘from Charlie’ as she referred to him, and also Camilla. She enjoys her crosswords and knitting, although due to due to her ailing eyesight, she has found this virtually impossible to continue. I suggested to her that perhaps if she still enjoys stories, then she could listen to audiobooks. A relative of hers had made a video celebrating her birthday via a slideshow on YouTube with lots of pictures which we Chromecast did to her television. We had some lovely conversations about the aircraft carrier that she wanted to go see at the seafront. However, there were some difficulties and they did not see the aircraft carrier. Mrs D explained to me how she loves the fresh air on the seafront and we spoke about this and other hobbies we enjoyed. It was a lovely mid-morning meeting where I got to know lots about her family and a little bit about her 100th year on this earth. She showed me her flowers she received ‘so many’. I hope to see Mrs D again for more chats.
