Stepping it up a gear
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in York.
- Thursday, 12th of March 2020
Arriving at Mr D's garden on a blustery day, we were given a list of priority tasks: remove brambles, ivy and more brambles! Armed with clippers, we went straight to work, chopping and bashing and stomping the head-high vegetation - whatever worked! As Tim pulled away the ivy, the remains of several gearboxes began to emerge - a sign of progress, as the plants were showing great determination to take over the space. After an hour or so of hacking, we managed to wrestle the cuttings into some semblance of a pile ready for collection, leaving a bit more space for manoeuvre in the garden - and hopefully room for a bit of wildlife!
