Southsea beach - sparklingly clean!
4 GoodGymers made their way to help the Southsea Beachwatch in Portsmouth.
- Saturday, 6th of July 2019
- Led by Judy Knapp
Five GoodGymers (Lou, Tracey, Jo, Maura & Judy) toiled under the beating sun to join Southsea Beach Watch for the monthly beach clean - this time focussing on the pretty Eastney end of the shore, with its sea kale and marsh mallow. It was heartening to see that the summer beach goers have been careful to take their litter away, as we didn't find any bottles, food containers or sweet wrappers. But we scoured the shingle for small pieces of plastic and cigarette butts. Our unusual finds included numerous cable ties, a shotgun cartridge and the ubiquitous item of clothing - this time a solitary black sock! We left the beach in a pristine state for the weekend's swimmers and sunbathers. Thanks to Maura & Jo for their fab photo skills!
