Snail Blazers
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in York.
- Thursday, 13th of August 2020
On a muggy Thursday afternoon Goodgymers Ellie and myself turned up to help Ms A with some gardening. With minutes to go I phoned Ellie to check I was in the right location, fortunately Ellie was able to garantee I was as she had accidentally been there the day before. We are nothing if not keen!
We soon introduced ourselves to a vivacious and friendly Ms A who explained that her garden border had been overtakes by a enthusiastic passion fruit plant and that it had enamoured most of the local snail population. Not Ellie's cup of tea. So while I tackled the passion fruit plant Ellie took on the Jasmin and low level weeding.
Conversation soon turned to cake (with a brief interlude of a failed snail race) and before we new it we'd overrun. At this point we decided to finish clearing up and rounded off our visit with a lovely chat with Ms A. Once our goodbyes were done we went out separate ways.
