Shop Of The Chops
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Bristol.
- Wednesday, 25th of March 2020
So this was a new GoodGym experience for me today in these rather strange and strained times in which we live.
A solo mission to buy some groceries for Mrs E sounded straightforward enough but after only finding one item on the shopping list in each of the first two food shops that I tried, I was starting to feel under pressure, particularly as I’d been informed that the most important item was some lamb chops. It is fair to say that there was next to no meat at all in either of these first two establishments.
Luckily I hit the jackpot when visiting a larger supermarket and the stockpilers had kindly left a few rich pickings for me, including the said lamb chops (although I did buy the last pack) and a small cabbage (which seemed to be the second most important item).
I called Mrs E after dropping off her food and she seemed quite chuffed which was a relief, particularly as her family were unable to help in this instance due to isolation following a trip abroad.
Great that we can still help out in times like these.
