Shelves shuffled and sheep ruffled
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Barnet.
- Thursday, 1st of November 2018
Our host today is expecting her 96-year-old father back home soon, so needed a bit of help getting the ground floor ready for a new bed and chair.
All of us did, or had lived locally so were able to chit-chat about it as we shuffled objects here and there around the room. Our host knew exactly what needed doing, so the few sets of drawers, chests, shelves and a few books presented no kind of challenge. A mere 15 minutes later we were done.
Outside the local B&Q, some wooden sheep provide one of the area's more significant historical landmarks, so a fine place for a touristy photo in the rain. After messing around like wallies tryna get them and us in a photo together, we eventually had to get down in the mud with them and got the job done with Liz's brand new phone and my long arm.
Our host's father is due back in a fortnight… She was extremely nice, and so was her home so I'm sure it will be great for him to be back!!
