Scythed for the weekend
9 GoodGymers made their way to help the Northern Slopes Initiative in Bristol.
- Saturday, 20th of February 2021
- Led by Bristol runner
It was another rainy Saturday morning, but that didn't stop 9 fantastic GoodGymers from turning up at Northern Slopes first thing in the morning. Quite the opposite, everyone was hyped (or scythed ?) for diving into the task to attack the remaining patch for brambles and clear the area for tree planting.
While Richard, Russ, and Phill were cutting down the thick thorns with scythes, Matt, Jason and Sophie did some important groundwork with raking cuttings and lopping resistent branches. The undefeated champion in bramble slashing, Dave, had another impressive run on the slopes and clear cut some untouched territory on his own.
Last but not least, Nathalie did an epic job picking litter along the path making this area look a lot more inviting.
Julia who organised this task for us as well as passing pedestrians were absolutetly blown away by our performance and amazed by how much we got done in one hour. Great team work guys!
