power of the mind
As the weather slowly crept toward a steady drizzle team GGH assembled for another speedy volunteering session at the Friends of Tottenham Green site. Last month saw us shift a huge pile of compost and dig it into the flowerbed running along the back wall of the vicarage. We were back to turn the soil once more and gather more organic matter to toss in the mix.
rake it or leave it
After a loop the loop of Clyde Circus we headed down toward West Green Road leaving a cog like piece of Strava art behind us completing a tad more than 2k (2.26 to be precise) and descended on Hazel who was asked to let us in to the tool store as the lovely Laura was away this week. Laura had left a helpful diagram showing what she expected us to complete this week. Once tools were to hand we split into three groups. Two pairs headed off in search of organic matter in the form of leaves to rake, de-litter, gather up and transport to the flowerbed, where the others got stuck into turning the earth. With a few hessian bags full of leaves added to the flowerbed we were well on our way to covering the entire bed and giving it a good turn. The team pulled together nicely in the final moments to get the job done - with a smidge of time left to clean the tools and pack everything away.
The Fitness session
Saying our goodbyes we set off across the green toward the super smooth Jazz café to hustle, sidestep and sprint our way through the fitness session in an alleyway between two buildings. Shout out to both teams. Great effort and energy guys. Next up we headed back for our warm down and the usual bit of babbling from me before we headed off homeward bound.
Shouts out to Sarah M for the pun. Enjoy your family time. you deserve it after all those miles you racked up last month.
