This Saturday saw our monthly ‘Goodgym Liverpool does parkrun’ session, with 6 members meeting up in Princes Park ready to run/volunteer.
Despite the early morning downpours and an 8.45 rain shower, the sun kindly made an appearance as the 5 runners congregated at the start line for a before run selfie. Meanwhile Eileen took up her regular volunteering spot near the finish.
At 9am on the dot we started our slow plod over the start line and towards the lake, before the crowd of 400 odd runners started to spread out and we could strength our legs a bit more. The weather once again was very considerate, providing only a spot of rain and a little breeze to help blow us around the course!
By 9.45am we had all congregated again at the finish and discussed our various achievements (including 3rd best 5k time, knocking 2 mins off previous parkrun time and actually running all the way including hills!). With the red faced (for some) ‘after’ photo taken, we all headed off to start the rest of our weekends!
