The village was looking somewhat neglected with Pond Weed and Reeds having taken over due to the water flow pipes being blocked. The local councillor, the Landlady of the village pub and members of Cippenham Royal British Legion brought together local residents to form a volunteers working party to unblock the drain, remove some of the reeds and deweed the pond, we also cut back nettles, brambles and ivy from one corner and managed to fit in a litter pick. It was such a fulfilling way to spend a Sunday morning and there was a real appetite to form a regular working party.
