After a cold and wet week the sun shone once again for GoodGym! We met with a spring in our step at Roll for the Soul. We had a quick introduction and warm up and then set off around the harbour and over the river to the footpath under the Clifton Suspension bridge in the Avon Gorge.
This week’s task was to help Surfer’s Against Sewage on their annual beach clean, part of a nationwide event. The aim was to clear the rubbish from all of the accessible tidal flats. We got stuck in, working down the river clearing all the rubbish as we went. We cleared masses of rubbish, and were able to do a really deep clean, getting all of the small bits of rubbish as well as the big stuff.
We completed the task, refreshed with some Coconut Water thanks to the SAS guys, and headed back in two groups. We set a quicker pace on the way back on the south side of the harbour, and finished with a customary sprint finish to Roll for the Soul.
