Leaflet Drops. 5k Run. Girl Power. Abs Cut. Track Attack. The skies may have been grey, but the outlook was bright, bright red that is, as a sensational seven sisters in arms hit up Willesden for a super-powered blast of Goodgym action.
With chaos on the trains and half the crew nursing sore limbs after several half marathons this past weekend, I was sat alone praying for company when to my delight I was joined by a team of fabulous ladies for a Monday night on the tiles. New to the crew this week Mili and Rachel wasted no time at al getting stuck into the task at hand, the bi-monthly GG leaflet drop on route to track.
With Marvellous Mel at the helm, who quite quickly stole the title of Queen of Leaflets which quickly evolved into Queen of hearts as she was actually chased down the street by a gentleman admirer, who'd missed out on her leaflet first time round!! And after delivering ALL of our load.... yes that's right 100% success, we arrived at the track, ready for part two.
Warm-up done the team got stuck straight in with a 400m dash paced by Dimple in her sparkly new trainers!!!
It was safe to say the girls definitely put their best foot forward with what followed - the ultimate leg strengthening routine; * Walking lunges * Jump lunges * Free-standing deadlifts * Squats
After strength work it was down to business, Girl Power all the way with timed 400m, 80% capacity sprints. The girls demonstrated none of them Wannabe left behind as every single one put in a Spicy performance.
Last on the agenda - Abs-Cut. With an array of abdominal and core strength work and there was no SAND-ING around for new-comer Rachel, who demonstrated perfect technique planks in the long-jump pit!!
Abs cut done, there was only the cool-down jog back to base to complete and with the last 1.5mile route we talked about the funniest and weirdest tasks that GG Brent had completed over the last 18months in business. Wow have we really been around that long!!!! Time really does fly, when you're having fun!
Another epic track session smashed, with nothing Girl Power, determination, grit and good-vibes.
Until next time...
