10 runners ran 8.5k to help CCP of Boscombe
A dry evening awaited as we all gathered at the usual meeting point of Flirt cafe in Bournemouth town.
A big welcome to new runner Steph who chose a great night to see what GoodGym is all about! And welcome back to Andrea after your worldly travels - awesome effort !
After a brief warmup incorporating our usual dose of pandiculation , we set off at a smart pace through the town centre , gardens and coming out at the pier. Tonight we ran along the prom towards Boscombe pier , gatecrashing the University freshers BBQ along the way , although no sausages came our way. A quick sprint up the zig-zag got the heart rates up a little , then we swung a right through Boscombe gardens and to our task for tonight - a spot of painting at teenage homeless charity CCP.
The paints , rollers and brushes were waiting for us as we were to tackle the rear dining room. Tasks were quickly sorted out and the team were soon getting the paint on the walls ( and hands). Three walls were soon covered with Daryl taking to some fine roller skills while Neil was busy up the ladder . Everyone got stuck in and a tremendous amount was achieved in such a short space of time. We will return next week for round two!
Having spent slightly longer on task than usual , a quick route was needed back to Flirt to try and make it for 8pm.....and we almost did! The team flew back ....amazing running ! Anyone for a marathon at the weekend?
Great job by all tonight - your enthusiasm and dedication is astounding :)
Daryl will be leading next week as GoodGym returns for more painting ! Flirt cafe 6.15pm !!
