Paint drops keep falling on our heads
4 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Cardiff.
- Sunday, 25th of February 2018
Aimee, Mikey, Darren, and Nathan ran on a sunny Sunday afternoon through the woods, across a river, and past a castle and vineyards to the home of Mrs. D to help paint her ceiling. This was a two-good-deed Sunday for Aimee, Mikey, and Darren had completed a group run to Coryton Primary in the morning. Mrs. D and her niece and nephew had all the materials to complete the task. Nathan and Aimee donned some stylish green bin bags (these came in handy once the painting started). With the help of Mrs. D's niece, we cleared the room of wall art and safely moved her pet budgie to anther room. We then covered and moved the furniture and started painting. As we were all unfamiliar with textured paint we made sure to read the instructions first. However, it seemed like as much paint ended up on the painters as on the ceiling. Under the artistic eye of Mikeyangelo, Mrs. D's ceiling soon resembled the Sistine Chapel. When we finished, Mrs. D commented on how bright the room now seemed and asked when we would be back to paint the walls. With a sense of satisfaction and paint-covered faces and clothes, the band of runners set off back to their homes.
