28 of us turned up last night . TWENTY EIGHT. Do you know what it looks like when 28 people run en masse from Brixton to Vauxhall via the High Street? It looks bonkers, But good bonkers.
A two mile jog up to Vauxhall Food Bank (exchanging terrible cheese based jokes) where we met the lovely Faith and got weighing, sorting and boxing all the food that had been collected that week. With so many of us we completed the task in under 15 minutes. Giving us plenty of time to complete some sprint intervals which everyone was absolutely over joyed about... no really, they were.
So we headed across the road to Vauxhall “Pleasure” Gardens (oh the irony) having a little peek at the pigs in the city farm on the way. In the “Pleasure “Gardens everyone completed 5 sets of anaerobic sprints then two sets of 300m laps... it sounds OK on paper, but when you push as hard as everyone did, it's far from OK.
Then there was a two mile jog back to Brixton... although minus the cheese jokes this time... I think we'd left our comic skills on the grass after the sprints. We'll have to go back and pick them up next week.
