So we start another year of doing what we do best ... in the rain (that never seems to change). I hope you all had a lovely break over Christmas.
Our session tonight was one where we were aiming to kick start our January challenge by eating into our 1100km by a 5km run or a 2.5km walk/run.
With our new year, new me hats on we did our warmup with a NEW YEAR inspired exercises (I forgot the W!) then off we trotted with a hi hi ho...up Upton Court Rd to our respective landmarks (The Fire Brigade or The Harvestor). Legs can feel heavy after a while of inactivity but oh my quad we did it!
2.5km and 5km in the bag for the challenge
A litter pick goes a long way..
Then onto our task for the evening. A little litter pick of the bushes in the car park. A lot of frantic fun must of been had over the festive period as we found plenty of rubbish including booze bottles, wet wipes, McDonald’s wrappers and a whole lotta bread which we put into the bread bin!
Four bags later we were done.
A warm welcome to Peter who joined us on his first session. We hope you enjoyed it.
Next week we will be helping The Community Cafe with a pine needles task!
