No time for reposin' when Clo's busy hosin'
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Bristol.
- Sunday, 24th of March 2019
A gorgeous sunny day for Clo and I to enjoy with our lovely host Mrs B, who has been struggling to keep up with her garden since losing her husband last year.
There was plenty to do, so we checked about priorities and first job was to get out the cushions for the garden sofa to give them a good airing whilst we worked.
We agreed to work close to the back of the house to tidy this up to improve the view for Mrs B when she looked out of the window and set about de-weeding the plant pots so that Clo could plant fresh bulbs in those, followed by getting rid of the weeds on the pathway and patio, brushing these down so that Clo could hose them down and leave the area nice and tidy.
Refreshed by a lovely cuppa, some cake and biscuits, we were then able to work our way up the garden path and onto an overgrown vegetable plot which we soon had cleared and started making plans for a return visit as there is still plenty to do, despite us working away for two and a half hours.
Great to catch up with Clo and chat with Mrs B who was very appreciative of our efforts in the beautiful spring sunshine and just time to return the garden sofa cushions to the garden cupboard before we left.
Lovely!
