Nipping it in the buddleia
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Tower Hamlets.
- Sunday, 27th of November 2016
On a very cold Sunday morning two GoodGymers joined Poplar HARCA to help clear out Mr V's garden so that he could start growing his own vegetables. The small garden was riddled with buddleia as Neil from HARCA called them. These overgrown shrubs had completely taken over Mr V's garden and they were also affecting the neighbors. Dave helped the HARCA team to saw the trees down while Rodney had to pull the trees through a hole in the fence to create a pile.
Unfortunately it was soon realised that the pile of bushes would pose a fire risk. It would make the perfect bonfire and any miscreants could easily set it alight. With the help of super Dan and his fantastic van the team was able to move the pile into the back of the van. After three hours of bearing the cold the job was finally done and Mr V was very grateful to be able to see his garden again.
