Having failed to get on the volunteer list for Haringey's vaccination centres, Sarah has been crossing the border to volunteer at the John Scott Health Centre just across the border in Hackney (which is actually closer to her flat anyway!)
Today was a special walk in day mostly to vaccinate undocumented Chinese workers. Sarah was on "pre vaccination questions" which in the end was mostly handled by Mandarin speakers working the queue outside. Some people had been queuing from quarter to seven waiting for the clinic to open at 8:30 am. The queue was huge! Luckily, it shrank and shrank as the team worked through it. Sarah did get to take details from a few English-speakers who had turned up, and apart from that did a lot of Phase 2 Vaccination Programme leaflet folding. By 11am she had run out of leaflets and patients and her shift was done.
