More hands make light work
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.
- Wednesday, 27th of January 2021
Andy and I went to move some furniture for Mr P this evening to make space for a hospital bed and other medical equipment.
We met Mr Pās friend Mr S who was at the property to kindly guide us in the right direction with regards to what needed moving upstairs (up one long and one short flight of stairs).
Was started by tackling the light furniture - chairs, small tables etc. to make way and supposedly as a warm up for the heavy stuff!
Next came the chaise lounge which we had to slightly manoeuvre due to the quite narrow flight of stairs with bannisters. We thought we were done with the heaviest of things...light work! However...
Then came the old school TV which turned out to be the heaviest of things! With the both of us finding our grip and being extremely careful so as not to damage it, we managed to safely take it upstairs...phew!
We then cleared some more clutter with the help of Mr S and after a nice friendly chat with him we parted ways.
Was good seeing you again Andy - hope we bump into each other again soon for another task šš½
