missed a drip
4 GoodGymers made their way 14.0km to help their local community in Newham.
- Wednesday, 24th of June 2015
A small but perfectly formed group of good folk descended upon the Olympic Park this week.
In keeping with the beautiful weather and all round upbeat mood that a day of sunshine brings we set off. We negotiated our way through E20's ever-changing road works and road blocks in search of The Edible bus stop's giant furniture; not quite DFS, this was even better. A bold bit of urban design for locals to enjoy.
We cruised down the never ending stretch of road that takes us under the iron bridge and into Wanstead Flats. Nish and I arriving first picked our area to paint and got to work unwrapping supplies, opening the tools and taping up those 'don't paint that' areas. I swear the paint still managed to somehow sneak in where it didn't belong.
Any who all 4 of us got to work on our therapeutic painting nattering away with every brush stroke and roller roll. At the end of it all we had to prise ourselves away from the task at hand. And switch back into run mode.
Setting off with some stunning views of Wanstead Flats calm we made our 3.4k journey back to the park for a cool down.
Great company as always, same time next week. Kirsty
P.s Don't forget to the submit ideas for the next social (1st or 8th July), Roof East is looking popular. They'll be screening Jaws next Wednesday
