Minding Our Own Business at Mrs C's
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in York.
- Saturday, 2nd of November 2019
Myself and Leanne met at Mrs C's on what turned out to be a dull and rainy Saturday afternoon. Mrs C was well equipped with various tools in the garage and shed and she showed us what needed doing, namely trimming a lilac bush and some willow. She also asked if we could try and remove some of the 'Mind Your Own Business' which had spread throughout one of the borders.
Leanne got to work on the willow, whilst I trimmed the lilac. We then turned to the main borders and with loppers and shears we removed anything that had crept over the edge of the lawn. Leanne got quite a few spiky branches in the face as she tackled one particularly thorny bush. I raked up the cuttings (trying to avoid the spikes) and we soon had the green bin completely full in about 50 minutes. The 'Mind Your Own Business' proved to be quite difficult to remove so I only managed to pull up one small patch.
Mrs C was very grateful and sent us away with a chocolate orange each!
