Mayors Covid Award Winners
2 GoodGymers made their way to help the Kingston Council in Kingston upon Thames.
- Tuesday, 4th of May 2021
- Led by Kingston upon Thames runner
GoodGym volunteers were both recipients of the Royal Borough Kingston Mayor’s Covid Awards 2021 as well as helpers today cycling round the borough to personally deliver the award to volunteers.
With Part 2 next week.
The Awards Presentation would normally take place in the Council Chamber at the Guildhall during March but due to government’s pandemic guidelines, the Mayor organised an online celebration and today was the delivery of certificates.
These volunteers we’re part of the Kingston Stronger Together Hub (Shopping Volunteers, Pharmacy Pick Up Volunteers & Befriending Volunteers) have been nominated to receive a Mayor’s Covid Award. This group of volunteers includes Re:act, Goodgym and local volunteers all who have been amazing in supporting Kingston residents most in need during the pandemic.
These new Covid awards are being given out this year, alongside the traditional Community Awards, to a number of individuals/groups/organisations within the Royal Borough in recognition of the outstanding support that has been shown to local residents during the pandemic.
Huge congratulations to everyone involved
