May Day Coffee Time!
7 GoodGymers made their way 1.0km to have an amazing time in Islington.
- Saturday, 2nd of May 2020
- Led by Simon Fitzmaurice
7 Goodgym Islington and Camden runners logged on to Zoom this morning to see what we have all been up to last week.
We had some great coffee and breakfasts being prepared today- Graham experimented with a savoury porridge made with broth, eggs and tomoatoes (it looks delicious- you can see it in the slideshow), and Caroline took us on a tour around her house whilst creating a lovely morning meal. Frances showed us her new pots and pans for future meals, and James shared his plans for baking more sourdough bread next week (with his many many bags of flour!).
Gardening progress has been made last week. Trainer Simon received a new delivery of compost, and is ready to start transferring kale, carrots, courgettes and beetroot to beds. Steve had some positive news after his tomato theft last week- he received a gift of fresh tomatoes, and now his garden is back to normal. Steve Lee has been making Sloe Gin, and offered a sample of his first batch to Steve C. Graham has seen his rocket and spinach growing well from his window box too, keeping them safe from the storms last week.
Before we got kicked out from Zoom, Trainer Simon asked for some pie-baking suggestions from team. His running club (Mornington Chasers) usually host a monthly "pie and pint" evening at Tapping The Admiral, a nice Kentish Town CAMRA pub owned by a black and white cat called "Nelson", which will be hosted virtually instead.
Pie suggestions included:
- Apple and Pear pie (to use up a load of excess fruit)
- Rhubarb Crumble
- Chick Pea Pot Pie
- Mushroom for the Vegans
- Veg Curry Pie (a speciality from the Toffee Club, an Everton themed pub in America, operated by Steve Lee's mate- check out the amazing Panini card t-shirt in the pics above!)
Always a pleasure to chat every week- we look forward to seeing you again soon!
Sign up here for next week's catch up! Every Saturday, 10am, on Zoom.
