Making some ration decisions
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in York.
- Wednesday, 10th of June 2020
I hadn't quite clocked the quantities that Ms S had asked for when we went through her list at the door. It meant that her list was way over the £20 budget.
To make things more challenging, my phone unexpectedly ran out of battery while I was on the way to Tesco, so I couldn't call her to ask what she wanted to do. And I forgot my pen...
I did my best to keep track of the cost in my head as I went along, reducing quantities where I could and guessing the prices of loose fruit and a few things that didn't seem to have a price label near their shelf.
It was a miracle that it ended up less than £2 over budget in the end! Ms. S was pleased with what I'd managed to bring back.
