Making it trim & proper
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in York.
- Saturday, 13th of July 2019
2 GG Yorkies ran 3.5km to help Mr J with his overgrown hedge.
Ellie and Ben were promptly met by Mr J and his array of tools and shown the hedge which surrounds over a quarter of his property. Armed with loppers, secateurs, a handsaw and some builders sacks, the two quickly got to it: Ben did the cutting whilst Ellie cleared up after him.
After a while, the builders sack got a little full, so Ellie demonstrated the GGYork method of squishing it down [climbing in it and jumping up and down] to a very bemused/confused Mr J. Once the hedge was tamed, Ellie and Ben had to move the waste from the sack into the green bin - which also quickly got full. But to Ellie’s delight, Mr J hopped into the bin and began jumping up and down!
Farewells were said before the runners left to carry on with the rest of their weekend.
