Making a flower bed a bit bedder
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Bristol.

Here's what Mrs S of BS13 had to say about the mission:
Mrs S called us to let us know that the volunteers did a great job and she really appreciated that they helped her sort out her flowerbeds as she's now been able to plant some flower bulbs.
It was a great morning for a mission. We arrived early and met Mrs S who showed us round to her lovely garden.
She loves plants and told us her plans for the space. She showed us some she would be planting soon and taught us a thing or two about them at the same time!
The first area to help out with was a bed at the back which needed turning over in preparation for planting. Armed with a spade and fork, we turned the bed over and started edging in preparation for stones being added around the perimeter to make a border.
Mrs S showed us the stones which we moved over to the bed, ready for future work to lay them into the border. They were all shapes and sizes- we managed to push a couple of the smaller ones down easily.
Mrs S kept us company whilst we worked. After we had a good chat, Charlene got right into trimming back trailing weeds from the neighbour's garden. We strimmed the grassy borders and edges of the garden, and cut back the brambles overhanging the fence.
We were happy to have helped Mrs S with the heavy lifting and digging so that she is a step closer to her dream flower bed. Charlene’s putting in a super effort this weekend and will be doing another mission tomorrow. Way to go Charlene!
