A few select belles paint the blue bell room
Barbara Tamsin and little Jemmie joined me at Worthing Leisure Centre this evening making it our smallest and most select group to date !
We had a quick catch up before heading off armed with head torches and plenty of happy vibes. After a shortish warm up run including ' the dark bit' we arrived at our task tonight returning to one of our favourite places at Kamelia Kids day nusery.
We met up with our cheerful friend ,Andy the caretaker, who led us through to the Bluebell extension where we found a wall that needed a lick of white paint to bring it back to best.
30 short minutes later we got to a satisfying stopping point and with a promise to return in January we snapped a quick photo and headed outside for our weekly fitness session.
Bringing some sparkle(rs) to Kamelia
Wow! We might have been few in numbers but we packed a punch in the fitness session tonight. With two GI J's in charge we smashed out a load of burpees , press ups ( both tricep and chest ) squats , squat jumps together with standing long jumps and bear crawls. Collectively these made some great primal, functional and cross training moves that will improve our all round fitness and also support our running goals too.
Butch Cassidy's and the Rundance Kid
With our torches fired up again set off for the short run back to base. We had a great bit of Jemmie and Barbara bonding, braving it together through the scary bit before arriving back at the Leisure Centre.
Quote of the night comes from Jemmie saying ' I need burpees' Perhaps we all need to be careful about brainwashing her with the November challenge!
GG update and next weeks
October was an incredible month with GG volunteers completing over 4800 tasks across the UK. We can be proud of our team contribution to this epic total.
Be ready to have some ideas about the venue for our Christmas social.Date in the frame is Wednesday 19th December just after our last task of the year on Monday 17th December. How does that sound for you?
Next week we are The Rowans Steeple View, Worthing BN13 1RP. You can either meet us at Worthing Leisure Centre for a 6:15pm departure or directly at the task at 6:30pm.
Have a great week everyone. Enjoy your burpees :)

I love the concept of getting physically and mentally fit whilst combining it with helping others. I run most days.
