Lessons in Botany
3 GoodGymers made their way to help the Havant Food Partnership in Portsmouth.
- Saturday, 29th of June 2024
- Led by Jen Stoneham
After completing Havant parkrun and enjoying an iced coffee in the sunshine, Sammy, Dave and I headed over the Havant Community Allotment to lend a hand.
We are arrived before the core team, so got to work on weeding their pea and bean beds. When we were joined by the others, Gary gave us a tour of the site and along with it some top tips for allotment and veggie health! We also learnt that Sam's basil plant at home may in fact be looking for love!
Before heading off, Sam made some bird deterrents from old CDs, whilst Dave and I installed some protective netting over a freshly prepared bed.
The team would love to have GoodGym back as and when to lend a hand, but also have some potential big tasks that may need all hands on deck! We look forward to coming back soon.
