1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Islington.
- Friday, 19th of May 2023
It was good to catch up again with Mr M, the discharge officer from the hospital tasked with ensuring Miss M has a safe and liveable home environment to return to, having met last week on another similar furniture shifting mission.
After a few phone calls with the hospital, we had our plan sorted out - move Miss M's recliner from the living room to her bedroom...on paper this sounded straightforward. After moving several piles of clothes and shoes to create sufficient space, we pushed the heavy recliner out of the living room into the narrow corridor, and encountered our first major challenge...it was just too wide to go any further.
Cue some head scratching, and then (thanks previous GoodGym recliner missions...), we had the brainwave of reclining fully the armchair and laying it on its side...after a bit of effort (and temporary removal of the fixed feet) we navigated it into it's new home.
A tidy up and a few pictures to confirm back to the hospital the outcome of our efforts, we then closed the door behind us, thankful and surprised we'd somehow managed to get this one done!

You're a pro now Nick with these recliner missions! I'm proud of you!
Thank you Anne - there was almost as much perspiration (and shoving) involved as on "that" mission...at least this chair actually reclined...
