Jumble Stumble
3 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in Hackney.
- Monday, 25th of July 2016
Two “free-in-the-daytime” Goodgymers went to St. Joseph's to help clear space for even more jumble and bric-a-brac to help raise the funds to keep the Hospice going. There was meant to be three of us but Ian had that pesky work business to attend to.
The job was immense. We were faced with a room stacked with boxes five high, full of stuff that either wouldn’t sell or just needed to be shifted. We had a skip to fill so we set to it. Our host was genius at knowing what was gold and what was not and, as usual, provided the muscle. To be fair neither of us really understood the difference between “good” and “sling” but nodded assent as if we did!
An hour and a half passed quickly and we had definitely made a difference but there is still masses to do. Oh well, there is always next week (and the week after that, and the week after that...)
