It's A Wrap!
3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Bristol.
- Saturday, 19th of January 2019
The morning drizzle had abated and we were rewarded with a dry, if a little fresh, afternoon where we teamed up to help out Ms D in her garden. There is always plenty to do here so we were delighted to find that another GoodGymmer, Phill, had turned up to help out, invited by our beneficiary herself.
Out came an array of tools, including secateurs, shears, loppers and saws to assist us in our tidy up operation.
Ady and Mel did a wonderful job of pruning back shrubs and bushes and making the flower beds look nice and tidy, whilst Dave cut back a tree bordering the far end of the garden to keep the neighbours happy and Phill busied himself decluttering and tidying the garden and reducing and bagging up the waste.
Then whilst Dave moved on to removing the lower hanging branches of a conifer to allow more light to reach the other plants and Ady continued with some artful trimming, Mel and Phill set about wrapping a large bush to keep out the cold. It looked super-snug by the time they were done!
Rewarded with a nice warm mug of coffee we called it a day and went on our merry way!
Big thanks to Phill for taking care of photo duties for us too!
