Inner settee blues
3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in York.
- Sunday, 17th of November 2019
Back into my original groove… (or so I thought) I rocked up a whole 10 minutes early but as the time ticked away I began to get anxious as to why my usually prompt fellow GG-ers were not appearing, so I chased up the trusty Leanne.
Plot twist!
“You’re in the wrong place” - Leanne
I had relied the map rather than following the actual address… so legged it over to where Leanne and Laura (on her 50th good deed!) were waiting patiently a few minutes away. Fortunately, Mr & Mrs B were aware and happy enough we were there when our trio knocked on the door. The eligible settee was rapidly stripped of cushions which were handed to me and Laura and Leanne did a stella job of manoeuvring the item through the short corridor round the tight bends out of the flat and into the stair well before anyone had a chance to shout “pivot”. Thankfully the settee was not the heaviest item of furniture we Goodgym folks have encountered so Laura and Leanne deftly got it down the stairs and out into the yard in no time, followed by the cushions. With the heavy lifting done we had a short sit down on the now garden furniture said our farewells to Mr & Mrs B and then set off on our runs home… depending on navigation skills.
