Yes, you have read it right!
I’ve lent my eyes to Sarah who is visually impaired and needed a pair of eyes to help her fit some security foam around her kitchen hobs.
This was my first time answering a video call for a Be My Eyes visually impaired member, and let me tell you, it was fun and soooooo rewarding!!!
Sarah was holding her phone with the camera pointing at the hob with one hand, and with the other, she moving around the foam.
“Right, up, up, a little bit more, stop! Down a bit now… oh you’re too far out now…don’t worry let’s start again! It’s me, I am rubbish at giving instructions ! “. Sarah was amazing and we have had a good laugh and a bit of a chit chat once we managed to complete the mission!
I would totally recommend you check it out if you are interested in being part of the network of volunteers around the globe lending a pair of eyes (they need all languages!!).
The mobile app is called Be My Eyes!
