House of Cards
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in York.
- Sunday, 16th of December 2018
Tim and I ran to meet Mrs B who needed a hand writing her Christmas cards.
Mrs B has Parkinson’s and finds it very difficult to write, but she had received several cards from friends and was determined to send cards back!
Tim helped Mrs B move her Christmas decs off the table, and our first challenge was to make a list of everyone who had sent a card, and then to locate that person in the address book. Sounds easy but nobody puts their surnames on their Christmas cards so this did require a lot of teamwork!
Put “lots of love” and two kisses on that one, they’re a really good friend! - Mrs B
I wrote the first stash of cards whilst Tim managed the list and then the next pack of cards were extremely glittery so I decided to hand them over to Tim, just in time for him to write out an address to Mrs B’s one very Welsh friend.
What IS this spelling?!?
With that complicated one done, we were almost finished.
It would have taken me all day to do this! Mrs B
Instead of writing out cards all day, Mrs B got to spend the afternoon at a Christmas lunch - much better!
We finished up and all wished each other a very Merry Christmas.
